Step #2--The Purchase
Wilsonville Toyota-Scion Pre-Owned Vehicle Purchase Intended for Export
- It’s important to understand that you must get all of your paperwork to the US Border Crossing 3 business days prior to bringing the vehicle into Canada. Also, it may take a little bit of time to obtain the title/MSO for the vehicle. Additional clearance time is needed for payment processing. (Fastest payment option is wire transfer but even that may take up to 3 business days.)
- Please make sure you have a realistic time expectation of 7-10 days for all processing.
- Establish where you will be taking delivery of the vehicle. Since we are not the exporter, the vehicle must be picked up in the US. The simplest method (and the one preferred by the majority of our customers) is to make arrangements to fly into Portland Int’l Airport (PDX) and allow us to pick you up for the ride to our dealership. If the vehicle is being delivered to you at another location, we can simply add transportation fees. Since we will need original signatures on the documents at delivery, you will need to be present.
- Once we’ve obtained your verbal purchase commitment, we’ll need to collect a deposit to hold the vehicle. We can accept up to $3,000 via major credit card over the phone.Additional fees will be collected for document processing ($50) and Oregon Trip Permit ($20). You may also add optional accessories or services.
- We will fax the written purchase agreement to you for approval and signature. Return the signed document via fax or overnight mail.
- Final payment needs to be cleared before picking up the vehicle. Most customers use the convenience of wire transfer. Your professional sales representative will be more than happy to discuss the options with you.
- We will send the Odometer Disclosure Statement and a copy of title or MSO to you. You will need these docs to send to the export and import centers.
- At vehicle delivery, you will sign and receive copies of the original documents. Don’t forget copies of your driver’s license and insurance if we’re meeting you offsite. Copy machines aren’t always readily available!
