Edmunds.com has what they call a “5-year True Cost to Own” (TCO), which includes many factors that you may not consider initially. TCO paints a clearer picture of the actual cost of a vehicle, and while it is not an exact number, it can be very helpful in your new car search. Edmunds factors depreciation, taxes & fees, financing costs, fuel, insurance, maintenance, and repairs into their True Cost to Own in order to help buyers better understand how much a vehicle will really cost in the long run.
