Pre-Collision System with Low-Light Pedestrian Detection

The Pre-Collision System with Pedestrian Detection (PCS w/PD) can help mitigate or avoid impact with a vehicle or pedestrian in certain situations. Using a camera and radar, PCS w/PD provides both audio and visual alerts, and if you don’t react, the system is designed to brake automatically.

Full-Speed Range Dynamic Radar Cruise Control

Intended for highway use, Full-Speed Range Dynamic Radar Cruise Control (DRCC) lets you drive at a preset speed. The system uses vehicle-to-vehicle distance control, helping maintain a preset distance from the vehicle ahead of you.

Lane Departure Alert with Steering Assist

When detecting white or yellow lane markings, Lane Departure Alert with Steering Assist (LDA w/SA) is designed to issue an audio/visual warning if it detects an inadvertent lane departure. The system is also designed to provide gentle corrective steering if the driver does not take corrective action.

Lane Tracing Assist

When Full-Speed Range Dynamic Radar Cruise Control (DRCC) is enabled and lane markers are detectable, Lane Tracing Assist (LTA) uses the lines on the road and/or preceding vehicles to help keep the vehicle centered in its lane.

Road Sign Assist

Using an intelligent camera, Road Sign Assist (RSA) is designed to detect speed limit signs, stop signs, Do Not Enter signs and yield signs, and display them on the Multi-Information Display (MID).

Automatic High Beams

The Automatic High Beams (AHB) are designed to help you see more clearly at night at speeds above 25 mph. The AHB system is designed to detect the headlights and taillights of other vehicles, then automatically toggle between high and low beams.

The available Blind Spot Monitor (BSM) is designed to warn you when a vehicle is in Highlander’s blind spot on either side. When Highlander is placed in reverse, available Rear Cross-Traffic Alert (RCTA) is designed to detect certain vehicles approaching from either side. If the system senses cross traffic, it is designed to warn you with side mirror indicators and a warning tone.

Available Front and Rear Parking Assist with Automatic Braking

This available driver-assistance feature is designed to warn you audibly and visually when it detects stationary objects, people walking by or vehicles approaching from the rear by sending you an alert inside the vehicle, reducing engine power and/or applying the brakes. *
