These fall festivals offer a variety of fun and interesting things to do in the area. Whether you’re visiting or you live in Wilsonville, you’ll love fall this year with the local events happening.

Sidewalk Chalk Art Festival

On September 17, head to Forest Grove for the Sidewalk Chalk Art Festival. This festival takes place from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. and encourages everyone to release the artist within. You can come and work on your very own masterpiece on the historic sidewalks of the city. Throughout the festival, you’ll find live music, balloon creations, works of art, and a variety of food vendors. The Sidewalk Chalk Art Festival has been a part of the Forest Grove city events since 1990, and brings together members of the community and surrounding towns.

Fall Harvest Festival

Around Halloween each year, Wilsonville offers the Fall Harvest Festival. This year, it takes place on October 29 from 9:30 a.m. to 11 a.m. The festival is located at the Stein-Boozier Barn. This festival offers story time, a costume parade, and wagon rides. You can also participate in pumpkin decorating, then take your pumpkin home to decorate the house. While the event is free, those who plan to participate are asked to bring a donation to help out the Wilsonville Community Sharing program. Donations can include non-perishable food or other household items such as laundry soap and toilet paper.

Cider Squeeze

The annual Cider Squeeze at Philip Foster Farm in Eagle Creek is a fun, family friendly event. The Cider Squeeze happens the last Saturday and Sunday of September. Admission is $5 per person or $20 for the family on Saturday and free on Sunday. Bring your own apples to press into cider, or use the farm’s apples for $6 per gallon of cider. You can also get pre-pressed cider at the event. On Saturday, there is a limit of two gallons of cider per family, though Sunday you can get as much cider as you want with unlimited squeezing. During the event, check out the live music, tours, and games.

The Great Onion Festival

Saturday, October 8 brings the Great Onion Festival in Sherwood. This event helps support the community and brings everyone a fun way to kick back and relax. Take the kids to a petting zoo, try your stomach at the onion eating competition, or check out the live music and entertainment. Other fun happenings during The Great Onion Festival including pumpkin painting, an onion rolling contest, and a variety of local vendors to buy from. Admission to the festival is free.

No matter what you’re interested in doing this fall, there are a number of great events happening in the area. While many of these are free events, you’ll find some that have a small admission price.
