Where to Take Your Toyota Camping
Toyota’s are some of the most common vehicles you can find on and off the road in the Pacific Northwest. It is also no secret that Oregonians love the outdoors and love camping. We have compiled some of the best spots in Oregon you can take your Toyota camping.
Lost Lake Campground, Hood River
With 148 sites and 245 acres available, Lost Lake Campground is nestled between Lost Lake and Mount Hood, giving you some breathtaking views. There are plenty of activities available from fishing and canoeing, to hiking and sightseeing. In addition to just tent sites, there are cabins, yurts, and lodge rooms. It is located near Hood River, Oregon and you would surely have a fantastic time if you were to take a trip here this summer.
Cape Lookout State Park, Tillamook
In the opposite direction of Mount Hood is the beautiful Oregon coast, and it is here where you will find Cape Lookout State Park in Tillamook, Oregon. This park offers over 170 tent sites, as well as yurts, cabins, and RV hookups. There are hiking trails, viewpoints, beach access, and more. More specifically, there is access to two segments of the Oregon Coast Trail, the North Trail and the South Trial. If you love the coast, this is an awesome summer destination for friends and family alike.
Strawberry Campground, Malheur National Forest
Strawberry Campground sits at the entrance of the Strawberry Mountain Wilderness. It is located in Grant County (about a 3.5 hour drive from Bend) with over 68,000 acres and 125 miles of hiking trails. There are also a few lakes and waterfalls to be seen. Strawberry Lake, the most notable, is a little over a mile from the campground. There is plenty of hiking, swimming, kayaking, and fishing to be had here.
L.L. “Stub” Stewart State Park, Buxton
Only 34 miles west of Portland sits L.L. Stewart State Park in Buxton, Oregon. There are nearly 30 miles of trails and over 1,800 acres. There are many activities to do here including year round camping 78 full hookup sites and 12 walk-in tent sites. There is also disc golf to be played here, with a 9-hole beginner course and an 18 hole advanced course. You can also do some great horseback riding, as there are several horse trails to be found around the park.
Mazama Village Campground, Crater Lake National Park
If you have never been to Crater Lake, Mazama Village campground is a great introduction to the area. Tucked away in the forest just 7 miles south of rim village, you will find over 214 campsites. There are also cabins and yurts to rent if that is more your style of lodging. As for things to do, you will find all the common camping activities like hiking, fishing, and swimming in the beautiful lake.
