In 2021 Toyota will debut TWO Supra models, a 3.0 liter I-6 and a 2.0 liter 4-cylinder version, as well as roll out a new model to their 86 lineup. Today we weigh the pro’s and con’s of each vehicle against each other to give you the most information in your buying process.

As an upgrade from its debut in 2020, the 2021 Toyota Supra 3.0 will have 47 more horsepower and 3689 lb-ft of torque in it’s turbocharged I-6. As well as an improvement with the vehicles handling and traction, tuning it for a “race-track like feel” rather than a “quick trip to the grocery store like feel”.

A Lighter, nimbler alternative to its older brother, the 2021 Supra 2.0 will have a Turbocharged I-4 engine, capable of generating 255 horsepower and 295 lb-ft of torque along with the expected crackles and pops you’d expect from this beast of a performance car backfiring. The lighter chassis and better balance will prove that this version of the Supra will ultimately be more fun to drive around winding roads and challenging courses, providing a thrilling ride its older sibling might not be able to give you!

86:

The Toyota 86, while lacking in raw power and output, it more than makes up for that fact by being the only Toyota brand sports car that has a manual transmission which ultimately gives you the MOST control out of all three vehicles. It’s also the cheapest of the three, by a wide margin at that, giving you more than enough room in your budget to deck out the car with Toyota brand, or aftermarket, upgrades in order to keep your 86 in line with its competitors. Although the 2021 Toyota Supra’s have been confirmed with a date, the 2021 Toyota 86 HAS been confirmed although no release date has been present.
