What is New About the 2020 Toyota Tacoma?
America loves the Toyota Tacoma. There’s a reason the trusty mid-size truck has been the best selling option in its class for 13 years straight. While it’s not quite time for a full redesign yet, the 2020 Tacoma boasts some important improvements over the outgoing 2019 models, making it the best Tacoma yet.
2020 Tacoma Exterior Improvements
While there aren’t a ton of updates to the 2020 model’s exterior, there are a couple to take note of. While the TRD Pro model keeps the bold “TOYOTA” badge on its nose, all other trims will have an updated grille design for 2020.
The TRD Pro model now also sports LED headlamps with sequential turn signals and updated taillights to help illuminate your drive.
Perhaps the most exciting new exterior feature is the TRD Pro’s new color option: Army Green (which we think looks pretty sweet when paired with the desert air intake).
2020 Tacoma Interior Improvements
The majority of the upgrades for the 2020 Tacoma come from within. Each Tacoma model now comes with a standard 8-inch touchscreen display (besides the base SR model which has a 7-inch touchscreen) that is Apple CarPlay, Android Auto and Amazon Alexa compatible. This is a first for Toyota when it comes to Android Auto compatibility.
One of the biggest concerns Tacoma drivers have expressed in the past is the lack of available customization of the driver’s seat position. Toyota implemented a 10-way power adjustable driver’s seat in the 2020 model, which makes a huge difference in driver comfort.
Other interior improvements include additional USB ports to keep all passengers connected, as well as thicker side windows to decrease wind noise inside of the cabin.
2020 Tacoma Performance Improvements
Navigating rough terrain has never been easier, thanks to the available trail camera system on TRD models. The grille-mounted forward-looking and mirror-mounted downward-facing cameras help provide a clearer view of the side and front of your truck so you can easily see obstacles around you. Additionally, Limited, TRD Off-Road and TRD Pro models have a standard surround-view camera that provides a bird’s-eye view of your Tacoma.
